John W. Mahoney is an attorney serving individuals and businesses throughout Texas.  From 2007-2013, he was General Counsel for a financial services holding company and its broker-dealer, RIA and insurance subsidiaries and also served as Chief Compliance Officer for the registered investment adviser subsidiary from 2010-2013.  In private practice as well as in-house counsel, he has served as legal counsel to publicly traded and privately held corporations, LLCs and partnerships regarding a wide variety of matters.  He also serves individuals with their estate planning and probate needs.

John earned a B. A. degree, cum laude, in political science and economics from the University of Central Missouri (formerly Central Missouri State University) in 1976 and a J. D. degree from the University of Tulsa in 1979, where he was a member of the Order of Barristers, the school’s National Moot Court Team and the Moot Court Board.  He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Missouri Bar Association and was a member (1989-1995), and President (1991-1992), of the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District Board of Trustees in Houston, Texas.
